Keeley Hawes was born at St Mary’s Hospital in London and raised in Marylebone in a working-class family. Her father Tony was a London taxi driver, as were her two older brothers. She is the youngest of four children. Hawes attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School on a grant when she was nine years old.
