Shaun Majumder was born on January 29, 1972, in Toronto, Ontario, and was raised in Burlington, Newfoundland and Labrador.
His father, Mani Majumder, immigrated from West Bengal, India, while his mother, Marian Bartlett, was from Newfoundland.
Following his parents’ separation, he was raised primarily by his mother. At age 13, he moved to Mississauga, Ontario, where he discovered acting through school theatre.
After spending a year studying at Dalhousie University, he left to pursue a career in comedy and acting full-time.
